TINY EARTH MADE OF ATOMS
The folks at IBM has made a map of the Earth. Yeah, so what? There are millions of those things. What's so special about this one?
It's made of atoms.
Oh, I know... regular maps are made of atoms too. This one, however, is actually sculpted from atoms thanks to an "atomic paintbrush" that allows scientists to manipulate materials as small as 15 nanometers across. (That's very tiny).
This map, for example, is so small that over a thousand would fit on a grain of salt.
