St. Augustine Lighthouse False Positive On a recent visit to St. Augustine, Florida, I was able to do an investigation at the lighthouse made famous in two episodes of Ghost Hunters where an apparition was filmed numerous times. During a sitting in the main house, I sat down in a chair that supposedly belonged to an old keeper. As legend has it, if you sit in his chair, he will appear to you and look rather angry. The night was a disappointment. Aside from an unexplained noise that no one caught on tape, nothing happened. Even the pictures were blurry not even yielding those stupid spirit orbs that some people fall all over themselves over. It wasn't until I was looking at pictures a few days later, that I almost fell out of my chair.
I'm not overly crazy about putting my face on the internet at this time, so I have censored myself. What I want to call your attention to is the shadowy figure in the bottom center of the picture. It appears to be a skeleton-like shadow seemingly appearing out of nowhere as though it's going to stand and look over me - scowling in disapproval at the man sitting in his chair. I was amazed. I had never caught a picture of a spook before and nothing approaching this level of quality. I was so excited that I came very close to showing my finding off on the internet that very evening. Thankfully, I stopped myself. I knew I had to examine what I had caught to make sure there was no other explanation. It was a very short and heartbreaking investigation.
Although out of focus, the figure was in this picture as well. What I thought was a genuine shadow person appears to be nothing more than a mark on the wall. Yeah, it sucks. I thought I had something special, but it only goes to prove that you've got to check and recheck because if you put a picture out there for the scrutiny of others, they are going to expose false positives and your reputation is only going to take a blow for it. I haven't gone over the recordings for EVP's yet. If I come across anything interesting, they will be posted here.
