THE 2007 HAUNT

For the first time in nearly two years I was able to construct a true yard haunt at my new home.
This year, I pulled out all the stops and even though there were a few setbacks,
I am very pleased with how things came about.  Here is the story...

The old weathered stones of Resurrection Cemetery seemed to take to their new homes
rather well at first.  When the haunt was first put up, I considered keeping the old name,
but I decided that this was a new beginning and, thus, needed a new name.

Goodbye Resurrection Cemetery,
Hello Boneyard.

As always, the Spectral Bride awaits at the front door for her
lost lover.  Now, however, she awaits outside of the Boneyard's Mourge.

The restless spirits of The Boneyard may not enjoy the canopy of Resurrection Cemetery,
but they seem to make do frolicking in the young tree of their new home.

Calista has returned.  Unfortunately, she lost an arm this year due to some heavy storms
that came through the area the night this picture was taken.  Not to worry, she was
back into action the next day thanks to some Rhino Glue.

This year, the zombies moved into the flower garden.  I tried chasing them out with
rakes, but we came to an agreement that I would leave them alone if they agreed
not to eat any of our new neighbor's brains.

Evil Kitty looks gleefully on at the collection of death and the macob in the front lawn
as the Bates Motel sign flickers near her window.

Night seems to come quickly and suddenly in The Boneyard and with it, all kinds of
nasty surprises... as documented in the video below.

This is a video of the haunt during its first day and night up.  Unfortunately, due to poor
weather - some of it seen in this video - it was destroyed and had to be rebuilt.
Apparently, the spirits were not at peace!

All was well by Halloween Night.  The tombstones had been repaired, accessories
replaced, candy purchased, and exorcisms carried out.

A criminal lack of time on Halloween Night forced me to resort to common pumpkin
carving and not the intricate designs I love to do.  As you can see, some were sickened by this.

Others were just enraged.

Still, others were just happy to be there.

Halloween Night in the Boneyard.

A successful year.  Lots of children and lots of fun.  Next year will be better, just you wait!
