Blood and Ice Cream SPACE: BEHIND AND BETWEEN by Jason Donner Part Eleven - Episode Title: "Blood and Ice Cream"
Previously, Janeway, Kim, Neelix, Tuvok, and Arturo finally got the timer away from the Kazon and managed to seek shelter on the board the Sulaco until Wade, Paris, Kes, Chakotay, and Sam Beckett (who is, unknown to all, inhabiting the body of Rembrandt) rescued them, but not before Harry was attacked by an alien face-hugger. The rescue was cut short, however when the Kazon resumed their attack and forced all of the shuttle passengers but Paris to beam back to Voyager. Paris, with little thought into what he was doing, took the shuttle to warp 10 and vanished. Back on Voyager, all seemed to be going well until Torres knocked Quinn out and stole the timer to get Voyager back home - possibly dooming the entire universe in the process.
[On the bridge] Chakotay: Captain, something new is emerging from the rift! Janeway: What now? Chakotay: It appears to be a... [checks his panel again] Janeway: A what!? Chakotay: An automobile. Janeway: An automobile? On screen! [On the viewer, we see a souped-up Deloren fly out of the rift] Janeway: What do you suppose a car is doing out in space? Chakotay: I don't know. but I can tell you what the passengers are doing. Janeway: What? Chakotay: Suffocating. That car doesn't have a life-support system. Janeway: Leaping lizards! Why didn't you say so!? Beam them to sickbay and tow the car into the shuttlebay! Doctor: [on comm] Doctor to Janeway! Janeway: Janeway, bridge here... uh... Chakotay: You mean, "Bridge, Janeway here." Janeway: You try saying it really fast off the cuff and see if you can say it right! Chakotay: Fine! Chakotay, here bridge! Uh... I mean Here! Bridge Chakotay! No... Chakotay... bridge... Dammit! Janeway: Harder than you think? Chakotay: Being a captain's tough work! Doctor: Excuse me. Janeway: Wazzat? Doctor: I hate to interrupt happy-time, but I have news. Janeway: Did you receive your patents we just beamed in? Doctor: Yes, quite a fascinating pair too. One keeps repeating, "Great Scott", and the other keeps repeating, "This is heavy!" That's not what I called you about though. I have news of Mr. Kim. Chakotay: Did he die? Doctor: No. Chakotay: Shit! Doctor: In fact, he's fine. Better than fine. He's awake and talking right now! Janeway: What about the alien? Doctor: That's the funny part. It seemed to come off by itself and die. Chakotay: Hee hee! That is kinda funny. Janeway: I want a complete analysis done on the creature, doctor. Doctor: I am afraid that will be impossible. Mr. Neelix grabbed it the second it hit the floor and ran away with it. He kept saying something about having a lobster dinner tonight. Janeway: I'll be down in a few moments. Wade is continuing her lessons with Darth Vader and Q as Arturo looks on, Sam is talking to Al, and Harry is up and bothering the Doctor.] Janeway: [to Doc and Marty] Hello, I'm captain Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager. Marty: That's a real long name, Captain Voyager. Janeway: No, no, no.... Voyager is the name of the Starship you are on. Doc: Starship!? What year is this? Janeway: 2372. Doc: GREAT SCOTT! Marty: This is heavy! Doctor: Do be quiet, I'm a Doctor, not a microphone! Kim: Are we there yet? Sam: Oh boy! Wade: I have a bad feeling about this. Vader: Do not underestimate the power of the dark side. Q: Mon capitian! Al: Ziggy says there's a 99% probability of at least a few more catch phrases. Arturo: Blistering idiots! Kes: Spooon! Janeway: SHUT UP!!!!!!!! The next person who spouts out another catch phrase will be tossed out the nearest airlock! I will whip you 47 times, and toss your bleeding butt into the final frontier because in space, no one can hear you scream. CLEAR!? All: Yes ma'am. Janeway: Alrighty then. [to Doc and Marty] I'm sorry, who are you guys again? Doc: Doctor Emmitt L. Brown. Marty: Michael J... uh... Marty McFly. Janeway: What was the last thing you remember before coming here? Doc: We were departing the year 1985 to retrieve a sports almanac from the year 1955. How'd we end up here? Janeway: it's a long story and I really don't want to go into it with a least a couple of aspirin. Kes will fill you in later. Doctor: Mr. Kim is awake and he wants to talk to you. Janeway: Very well. How are you feeling, Mr. Kim? Kim: A little sick in my tummy. Janeway: Well, we can't have that, now? Can we? Doctor, get my special little guy some ice cream. Kim: ICE CREAM!!!! [begins gobbling up the pail of ice cream] Janeway: Professor? Arturo.: Yeah? Janeway: Has Quinn made any progress in fixing that time doohicky of yours? Arturo: I don't know. I haven't talked to him since he went down to engineering. I have every confidence in the boy, though. He's quite smart. Janeway: [whispering] You know, we still have an hour before you guys slide. You think maybe you'd like to come up to my cabin? Arturo: Uhhh... ok. Kim: I don't feel so good. Janeway: Maybe we could have a romantic dinner for two and... see what happens. Arturo: [moves in for a kiss] Sounds wonderful my dear. Kim: Captain! I don't feel so good! Janeway: Shut up, Harry! [Kim goes into violent convulsions as his chest erupts in a mass of blood and ice cream as a baby alien squirms out] Janeway: GOOD LORD!!! Doctor: Not to worry! I'll get it! [The Doctor grabs a lazer scalpel and goes after the alien. The alien retreats into Harry's body cavity as the doctor pursues. There is a gushing sound as the scalpel cuts through Harry's vital organs. By this time, Vader has gotten on top of a bed holding his cape up and screaming.] Kim: Ahhhhhh!!! Owwww!!! Ahhhhhh!!! [The alien jumps out of Harry's broken body and escapes into a Jeffries Tube] Janeway: Shit! What was that!? Doctor: A previously unknown form of life! Janeway: Harry!! Is Harry ok? Doctor: Under normal circumstances, I would say no. However, 24th century medicine is pretty darned advanced. I'd say Mr. Kim has a fifty/fifty chance of pull through. However, there is only a five percent chance of that. Janeway: What the hell else could go wrong today!? [WHAM!!!!] Chakotay: [on comm] Captain, the Kazon are attacking us again! Janeway: Fine, I'm on my way! Arturo: I'm coming with you! [As Janeway and Arturo leave, Kes is suddenly surrounded by red energy that flares up and blinds the camera. When the light fades, we see that Kes has been replaced by Zowie, the evil leaper.] Zowie: How delicious. [Zowie leaves] [On the bridge] Tuvok: Captain the Kazon ship is hailing us! Janeway: On screen! Seska: You... You killed my boyfriend! I'll kill all of you! Especially you Arturo! I'll kill you a lot! Arturo: Bring it on! [WHAM! WHAM!] Janeway: Janeway to Engineering! Torres! Why aren't the shields working!? Torres? Torres? Why aren't you answering!? [In engineering, Torres is busy hooking the timer up to the warp engines while Quinn's unconscious body can be seen in the foreground] Torres: Just a few more connections and I'll be able to slide the entire ship to the Alpha quadrant! Ha! HA! HAAAAAA!!! [Back on the bridge...] Chakotay: She's not responding!!! We're done for! [Just then a strange new ship appears out of the void and shoots the Kazon ship which explodes in a firey... uh... explosion. I guess] Janeway: What the hell!? Arturo: It looks as though we have new allies. Tuvok: Indeed. Well, professor Arturo, it would interest you to note that our new allies are training weapons on us now and are more than likey going to kill us now. Janeway: Tuvok! What can you tell me about that new ship!? Tuvok: Only that it is the most powerful ship I have ever seen. Curious. The ship has an Earth name. Janeway: What is it? Tuvok: It is called, "The White Star". It's from someplace called Babylon 5. Babylon 5? Well, we all knew they would show up sooner or later! Can Janeway make peace with the White Star and save the universe? Will Doc Brown and Marty McFly ever get back to the future, which is the past... or the present. Which is the future? Will Torres succeed in her maniacal scheme to slide Voyager back to the Alpha Quadrant? What will Sam do we he discovers that the evil leaper Zowie has leaped into Kes? Will Harry survive having an alien bust out of his chest? Will the alien devour every member of the crew? That'd be kinda cool. Wouldn't it? TO BE CONTINUED!!!
